Harvard Business Review is a respected peer-reviewed magazine that has been serving industry executives since 1983. In this article, I’ll share a short history of this popular business review magazine, as well as a few words about leadership and how it differs from other business review magazines.

What makes a leader in business review different? First, we don’t believe that every leader is the same. To some extent, we don’t believe that business review leaders are any smarter than the general population. That does not mean they are not intelligent. In fact, they are often smarter. But we do believe that leadership is a skill that is learned by many people throughout their lifetimes, in particular by those who are in leadership roles.

We believe that leaders are intelligent because they are intelligent. That’s why they are leaders, and why they are usually smarter than the average person. But it also means that leadership is not simply a skill that is learned. Leaders must put in effort to become better leaders, and to learn how to learn. They learn by doing, by developing the ability to analyze problems and make improvements, and by reading and researching to learn what works and what doesn’t.

Leaders are not just intelligent, they are also highly effective at being leaders. There are many ways that leaders can be made to be successful, whether it be their physical appearance or their personality or even their knowledge. We’ll discuss leadership in more detail later in this book.
