How to get into the health information technology field? In today’s information technology (IT) market, there are many jobs that are highly sought after, but there are also many jobs that are less sought after.
What about health information technology? I am pretty much stuck on this one.
When it comes to health information technology, there are two main industries that are in a competition to attract new talent: pharmaceutical and health care software. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), in 2014 the health care software industry generated $8.2 billion in sales, and the pharmaceutical industry generated $6.5 billion in sales. So while both industries are looking for new talent, there are other ways to get into the health care software field.
For example, I don’t know about you, but I am a good listener. And I’m a good listener to what people have to say. My ears are always open and my brain is always processing the information that is being presented to me. I think there are some things that I am good at that are just natural and others that I have to practice and hone.
I have a number of friends who are really good listeners who have been told by my friends to make sure I am okay to listen to your voice. I like to keep my mouth shut and get the sound on. I also like to hear my voice heard on a regular basis, so that I can hear the voices my friends and family have. I also like to listen to my own voice when I’m in a public forum. So I am a good listener.
Just because you like to hear your own voice isn’t actually a good thing though. We have all been there, listening to someone talk over your voice and just not even paying attention. My mom used to do this a lot when my brother was talking to me. She would say things like, “What’d I say?” and “I’m sorry.” My dad was like, “You need to listen more carefully.
The problem is that the people who make the technology that makes these voices heard are constantly telling us how great their own voice is and how much they love their own voice and how they would never be able to hear anyone else’s voice. In fact, I am sure they can already hear all of us. So it seems we’re just stuck in a constant loop of listening to people we don’t like and not really listening to anyone else.
With this in mind, we are going to look at some of the things we’ve seen so far and try to figure out how to overcome the “we can’t hear you” attitude.
